the boathouse ~ celebrations

for philip's dad's 60th birthday, we celebrated in nyc. after a nice long stroll through central park where kbear took a nice lil nap, we headed to the boathouse in central park.  phil's cousin had set up a whole nice dinner with a view, gondola ride appointments, the works.  last time we visited him here, he was 2nd chef in command/sous chef.  to our surprise and excitement, when we arrived at the restaurant, we noticed his chef coat said "executive chef"! :)  he had been promoted to the top chef :)  pretty cool.  he was embarrassed and shy about it, but we had to make a big deal out of it.  what an amazing accomplishment! congrats k oppa!

needless to say, he pulled out all the stops - the service was impeccable, the food top notch, and the views breathtaking.  we walked in, the restaurant was jam packed, but there was one empty table right by the water - it was reserved for us :)  i think philip's dad felt super special, which made it all the better.

it's no coincidence that we're all in blue :P phil's mom wanted us all dressed in different hues of blue (she has this color matching thing she likes to do for special occasions...she's cute :))  so she bought us what we're all wearing for this event :)

since kbear had a nice nap, she woke up at the restaurant feeling refreshed and happy :)  she kept saying "moool" (water in korean) and "boooat boooat!" :)
