kbear updates

some random, recent updates of kbear...so we could look back and remember her transitions :)  she knows her colors (thanks to her crayons and the "shout shout shout it out" book auntie jeannie got her when she was first born).  she says, "yeh-whoa" (yellow), "puh-ple" (purple), "geen" (green), "wed" (red), "bwoo" (blue), "back" (black), "bwown" (brown).

she loves animals, so she's now learned to say what noises they make :P

me: what does a cow say?
k: moooo
me: what does a lion say?
k: wooooar
me: what does a dog say?
k: wuff wuff
me: what does a cat say?
k: eow (the "m" is always missing :P)
me: what does an elephant say?
k: wooooh (making the hand gestures of the trunk going up and down)
me: what does a monkey say?
k: ooh ooh ahh ahh
me: what does a frog say?
k: wibbit wibbit
me: what does a horse say?
k: ney-hey-hey
me: what does a sheep say?
k: ba ba ba
me: what does a duck say?
k: quack quack

pretty hilarious hearing her do all of them :P

she started counting a little (to our surprise!), and we only really found out because we found her counting to herself one day putting things in her bucket.  we had always tried to count anything countable from the day she was born (the steps going upstairs or coming downstairs, the number of books she has, the number of fingers and toes, etc), so i guess somewhere along the line, she kind of caught on a bit.  she won't count on demand if i ask her to, she just has to be in the mood to count something, and she'll do it.  for some funny reason, she likes the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10.  not sure why she doesn't like 4 or 7 yet...haha.

she is really talking and communicating so much more these days.  it's fun to interact with her :)  she'll say a definite "YESH" or "YAH" if she wants something and a defiant "NO" if she really doesn't.  she'll say, "UP!" if she wants to go upstairs and "DOW" if she wants to go downstairs.  ahhh my sassy little girl :)

she loves her flashcards. her favorite letters are "o" and "m"...haha.  again, dunno why!  she says oh-pah-ta-ta" for octopus and "ahl-kay-kay" for alligator (which we just love) :)  she especially likes the cards apple, bee, monkey, necklace, yoyo, whale, and zebra.

organizing and reorganizing her flashcards
s is for susanna :P
it's so exciting to see her really develop into her own little being...everyday is such a surprise :)  we are totally LOVING this stage and trying to savor every second of it because we know it goes too fast.  but no matter how big or old she gets, she will always be my baby!

some random pics to end the post :)  one hot summer weekend, kbear was intently focused on daddy mowing the lawn outside, and she was in the cutest poses.  i grabbed my camera and caught these :)

my sweet sweet baby :)
