food fest & date nites

we've been super fortunate to be at my in-laws' the past month ~ they've helped SO much with the baby (not to mention showering her with ridiculous amounts of gifts & grandparent love), but they've also taken SUCH good care of me & philip.  my m-i-l is a CRAZY good cook, so she's been making me all kinds of delicious eats like homemade jja jjang myun, dumplings from scratch, pho(yes, pho!), my fave shabu shabu w/the thinnest, most delicious melt-in-your-mouth beef, tacos & fajitas, dduk gook, seafood stew/jiggae, and a bunch of other yummy korean goodness.  i know i've been uberly spoiled by them, and i'm super thankful and blessed that we (esp kayla) got to spend so much valuable time with them. definitely lots of amazing memories for kayla and us :)  u can never have too much family love :)

homemade pho...mmmmmmm
veggies for shabu shabu *droooooool*
it's all about mixing the sauces :P
thin slices of beef + veggies + handdrawn noodles all mixed in a special secret homemade broth = perfection
yummy spicy korean seafood stew
oh yes, it is THAT good. jumbo shrimp. nom nom nom.
fortunately for us, my in-laws LOVE watching and playing with Kayla, so they've forced (yup, forced :D) us out so we could have some alone time and date nites :)  our latest date nite: cute little hidden specialty dessert cafe that philip found and a movie :)

loved the light fixtures in the place ~ very euro-chic
look at all those homemade cupcakes!
rows and rows and rows....
chocolate upon chocolate upon chocolate
this one def caught my eye....caramel apple + cheesecake...what a perfect combo
my delish caramel apple cheesecake drizzled w/extra caramel :)
philip's st. jude cupcake and dulce de leche latte
happy hubby :)
and oftentimes, we come home to this: appa choe playing with little kayla doing the "monkey" or "boxing" with her or teaching her how to stick out her tongue (she really does it now when she sees grandpa do it :P). too cute. kayla sure does love her harabuji :)

"boxing" w/each other :)
the "monkey" ~ kayla always gets a kick out of this one :)
