major catch up

been MIA too long - but thanks to all our friends & fam that still read and ask about our blog :) sometimes i wonder if i'm the only one who reads it (which i'm ok with since i write all this for my lil kbear to read one day and realize how much her mommy & daddy SO love her)....but all your responses/comments/emails/love keep me motivated ;)

so rewind a few months, my parents came out to visit (mainly the baby, of course)...it was as always filled with a lot of good food/mom's cooking and fun.  one special event was eating ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT dungeness crabs! if anyone knows me, that is my all-time-hands-down FAVORITE thing to eat.  needless to say, i out-ate everyone at that table.  proud moment. we won't say how many of these suckers i killed.

kbear is getting bigger and bigger every day.  it's amazing to see how much she's grown and changed in the past year.  phil and i sometimes look at her and say, "she's a little person! she's an actual little human being!"  it blows our minds :)  i try to capture every big moment or event, but of course there's only so much i could catch.  here she is tiptoeing to reach for something on our desk - it was the funniest thing - she was trying so stinkin hard to get what she wanted :)

i've been making her food from scratch since she started solids.  and although it is a full-time job in itself and exhausting at times after a full day of work, it's worth it.  i'm quite anal when it comes to trying to get her to eat her fruits and veggies, it actually stresses me out when she skips a meal or rejects healthy food i try to feed her!  thank GOD that she's generally a pretty good eater, for the most part.  when she gets in her feisty little mood and she doesn't want to eat something though, there is NO way that food is going in her mouth! haha.  she can be quite stubborn like her mommy :P  here is one of her fresh fruit smoothies that she seems to enjoy at the moment:

thanksgiving totally snuck up on us this year, and it is my all time fave day to eat!  of course umma choe did her usual amazing t-day spread w/the works!  again, i think i out-ate everyone that whole weekend.  can't get enough of turkey, stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes, all of it!  i was in charge of dessert, so i attempted to make something a little more gourmet since i was only responsible for one dish :P  i made Dark Chocolate Créme Fraîche Pretzel Crust Cheesecakes.  pretty tasty...will be making this again.

another weekend, my cousins & neph came down from NY for a day trip.  SO.MUCH.FUN.  we basically ate, shopped, ate some more, had the kiddos play, and caught up.  it was so cute to see kbear & tyty interact and play with each other :)  little cousins!
